An old friend of Brett Keno (Sculptor) from his school days visited his studio in Otaki during the Kapiti Coast Art Trail and asked if he would consider creating a Chinese Dragon for the Lunar New Year Festival 2024.

Brett loved the opportunity to try something new and enjoyed the challenge of discovering his first Dragon hidden in a block of limestone.  The colour of the limestone ended up a little golden which was perfect.

Kāpiti Coast, Wellington, New Zealand Monday 15th April 2024: The Web Genius Kāpiti Run for Youth has counted all fundraising by individuals, groups and business sponsors and raised a record amount of $30,836.60.  Distribution to Fundraising Partners has taken place so they can continue to do good for rangatahi youth in Kāpiti.

Owner Maude Heath has decided to relocate her business back to Waikanae village after five years in Otaki. Starting on the first of May, you will find the gallery at 6 Mahara Place, formerly home to Julie Hunter’s eco clothing and homewares store.

We do. The New Zealand Deerstalkers Association (NZDA) delivers a Hunter National Training Scheme (HUNTS) through local branches. This course is aimed at hunters who want to refresh their skills or educate newbies on how to enjoy hunting safely and ethically. You must be a club member to enrol; however, you can be a complete novice, with most applicants having little to no firearms experience.

Kāpiti Run for Youth takes place annually to raise funds and fitness for Kāpiti rangatahi youth while having fun walking or running along the beautiful Kāpiti coastline.  “This event continues to inspire Web Genius with its ability to connect people and galvanise participants, fundraising partners and sponsors”, says Richard Calkin, the Founder of Web Genius.  Last year we raised a record-breaking amount of money, $27,010, which was hugely satisfying, and we can’t wait to do it all again.”
